What personal data we collect and why we collect it
At this time, the website TupeloFairyTale.com does not collect any personally identifying information from visitors. There are no tracking plugins, and it runs a basic privacy-friendly analytics packet. The only cookies used are in relation to WP-Polls, to prevent double-voting.
At this time, TupeloFairyTale does not allow comments on the content of this site. Thus, this website does not collect or store any personal information (such as names, email addresses, or IP addresses) in relation to comments.
Our website is built using the NEVE theme, which is provided by ThemeIsle. The NEVE theme does not collect any personally identifiable information by itself; it simply facilitates the layout and appearance of our website. Any data collected or processed through the website’s features or plugins is handled in accordance with the privacy practices set forth in this policy.
Analytics, Polling, & Cookies
We use Koko Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Here’s how Koko Analytics handles your data:
- No Personal Data: Koko Analytics does not collect personally identifiable information, such as names or email addresses.
- No External Services: Koko Analytics is self-hosted and does not send any data to third-party servers.
- No Cookies: Koko Analytics does not use cookies to track visitors.
- Minimal, Local Storage: The plugin only stores aggregated, anonymous page-view counts in our website database.
- No Sharing: We do not share these analytics data with anyone outside our organization.
We use WP-Polls to create and manage polls. WP-Polls may set cookies in your browser for the following purposes:
- Vote Tracking: WP-Polls sets a cookie to determine whether you have voted in a specific poll. This helps prevent duplicate voting by the same visitor, ensuring poll results are as accurate as possible. The cookie contains information about which poll(s) you have participated in but does not include any personal data such as your name or email address.
- Cookie Duration: The exact duration of the cookie may vary but is typically set to last until the current poll is closed or until a new poll is created. This duration can be configured by the website administrator. Once expired, the cookie is removed or becomes inactive, and your browser may overwrite or delete it based on your browser settings.
- Opting Out: If you prefer not to accept cookies from our polls, you can disable cookies entirely in your browser settings. However, doing so may prevent you from participating in the polls or accurately tracking your votes. You can also manually delete cookies from your browser at any time. Please refer to your specific browser’s documentation for instructions on managing or deleting cookies.
- No Personal Information: By default, the poll cookies only store data required to prevent repeated votes. We do not share or sell poll-related data to any third party.
Embedded Content
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Data - Usage, Retention, and Your Rights
Any data we collect (polling, page views, aggregated usage statistics) is used only to help us understand which content is most popular or useful to our visitors, so we can improve the site experience. We do not use it for advertising or distribute the data to any third parties.
Koko Analytics: Data about page views is stored on our servers. Retention settings vary by Koko Analytics configuration, but typically it stores a rolling record to provide accurate reports.
WP-Polls: Data about votes cast in polls is stored on our servers. Polling data is used exclusively to better the website – all specific information will be purged at the end of the production and only trends retained.
Since no personally identifying data is collected, there is no mechanism to associate a specific individual with any record. Because we do not collect personal data, we have no way to identify or locate personal records. If you have any general questions or concerns, you can reach out at kevsteelewriting@gmail.com.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or relevant laws. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically, and reach out if you have any questions at kevsteelewriting@gmail.com.
