What a splendid first gathering we’ve had for TCT’s upcoming production of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella! I (your oh-so-lovely Fairy Godmother) fluttered in to see bright-eyed performers and eager crew members, ready to bring a bit of enchantment to our fair city of Tupelo.
The very first rehearsal day is a little like stepping into a grand ballroom for the first time – some nerves, some excitement, and a whole world of possibilities just waiting for us to waltz right in. Our wonderful cast gathered in the cozy choir room in the First United Methodist Church while we wait for repairs to The Lyric. We started out simply: introductions, a few fun get-to-know-you moments, and then on to a reading of the show’s script and music.
These early days are where the seeds of our show are planted. It’s where we learn each other’s rhythms, find camaraderie, and start shaping the world of the production. Every cast member brings something special to our grand fairy-tale – laughter, determination, artistry, and a sprinkle of enchantment.
Check this website often – there will be surprises, laughter, stories behind the scenes, and perhaps a few Impossible Things along the way! Until next time, remember: even the greatest fairy-tale magic begins with a single step.
See you soon!
